Tripadvisor comments Notten's Bush Camp

We had limited time to experience Nottens, but it was a fantastic experience. The Sabi Sands is full of lodges that offer excellent game viewing in arguably one of the best game viewing regions in Africa. Nottens main drawing point is that its small and intimate. The lodge does not have electricity (except in reception) and all lighting is by lamps, but this adds to the experience. The rooms are large and extremely comfortable. On a fully inclusive basis, the lodge does offer excellent value for money.

Having been on safari in Tanzania before, what was so different here was being able to get off the primary road and see the animals up close. We chose Notten's because it was a private reserve, was smal and family run (only 16 guests)l and not "high end" to make the bush experience more natural and had a good reputation. I knew going there that the only electricity in our cottage was the ceiling fan and that was fine. I loved having only lanterns to guide the way and lighting our room, such a nice touch in the bush. Thomas, Craig, and Rory were such wonderful guides and worked very hard to make sure that we had a great experience. The bedroom was very large with a comfortable bed. Although we had a very spacious bathroom, we were encouraged to use the outdoor shower outside the bathroom - it was secluded and had fine hot and cold water. The food was delicious, well prepared and eating all together in candlelight after drinks with the group was a great way to end the day. Saw the big 5 and many, many more animals. Highlight was a lioness with her 5 cubs! We want to go back!
