Tripadvisor comments Lion Sands River
My wife and I went to Lion Sands to begin our honeymoon, and we couldn't have had a better experience. The staff was incredible, the food was amazing, the room was great, and our game viewing was perfect. Our ranger and tracker, Syd and Sylvester, did a fantastic job of making sure our trip was memorable. On our first drive we saw four of the Big Five, and they didn't rest until we saw the fifth (a leopard) on our second day. Our butler, Solly, was incredibly attentive and friendly. All of the food that we had exceeded our expectations (wild boar, ostrich, springbok, gemsbok, kudu, wildebeaste, and more). The staff knew that we were honeymooning, and they went out of their way to give us upgrades and make our stay extra special. We have already recommended friends, and we're planning a trip back for a future anniversary. The only bad part of our stay was having to leave!krobin87 from Orlando, FL
There are many factors to consider when deciding which game reserve in South Africa to visit. I chose a private game reserve as I wanted fewer people in a private vehicle, off road driving, high standards for accommodations and food, and of course the best opportunities for game sightings. My 20 year old daughter and I had 3 amazing nights at the Lion Sands Resorts in March. We could have easily spent 4 nights. It was an wonderful experience- delicious and regular options for dinning (even out in the bush), personal attention and comfortable accommodations, energetic, knowledgeable and personable ranger and tracker, as well as access to an incredible variety of animals, birds, and plants. Our sighting experience was terrific, with 2 game drives daily (one early in the morning and one in the evening) and during the day- options for exercise, spa or relaxation.Mayatravels from Bellevue, Washington
