Great care has been taken to balance unpretentious style with complete comfort when it comes to the Chitwa Suites. Each of the six individually decorated suites open onto a private lake-view deck with its own private plunge pool, framed by a spacious timber deck that overlooks the nearby lake – a popular drinking hole for our wealth of wildlife. The luxury suites are very spacious, varying from 130 to 180 square metres, and can accommodate up to 2 extra beds for children under the age of 12 years only. The Charlsy Suite in particular is a superb solution for families or friends travelling together! It consists of two splendidly appointed inter-leading en-suite rooms joined by a comfortable living area. A fabulously spacious common lake view deck with a swimming pool completes this unique unit. All the Chitwa Chitwa Suites include a bath-tub, indoor and outdoor shower, fireplace, minibar, fan, hairdryer, tea coffee making facility and an iPod docking station.

Activities at Chitwa Chitwa Lodge

The Chitwa experience offers memorable game drives and bush-walks under the guidance of professional rangers and trackers. Children of all ages are welcome and dedicated bush walks for children are catered for. Chitwa Chitwa is proud of its local involvement too, having set up a Trust in 2008 to contribute to the educational development in the local villages. Trips to the Dixie village are available for guests to experience the Chitwa Trust initiatives.

The suites were enormous and luxurious, the food was delicious (and so much food), the staff were exceptional and no ask was ever too big. We felt we had the place to ourselves as it’s all very private. We were really looked after with daily surprises - sunrise breakfast in the bush, game drive drinks, African dinner, flowers and candles in our room and sunset drinks.

The lodge sits on the Chitwa Dam which means every day there are visits from wildlife, which entrance you in between the two drives a day. our guide Deon and tracker, Moses were the best of the best! With Deon's experience and patience we were able to see 'the Big 5' ... and more.
